2 Eagles sandwich future Hall of Famer on Reed Blankenship's top WRs ranking

News is always at an arm's reach in an information and social media age. The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are two of the NFL's most popular brands, so no one should be stunned when shockwaves almost break platforms and channels when they descend on New Orleans to play in football's biggest game.

2 Eagles sandwich future Hall of Famer on Reed Blankenship's top WRs ranking

We haven't taken the time to research this, but we'd imagine the following theory is true. If we tried to sift through all of the content produced in Super Bowl 59, something tells us it would take several more years.

Case in point, take the opening night of Super Bowl Week. There's that big 'Media Night' presentation. It's a free-for-all. Everyone can crowd players and coaches from both teams and ask some of the wildest questions you can think of.

It's been almost two months since Philly raised the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and a day or so ago, something caught our attention. Reed Blankenship was asked his opinion of who the top three receivers are, and you'll want to know what he said.

A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith make Reed Blankenship's list of the top three wide receivers in the NFL right now.

Football is subjective. Ask someone who the top three receivers are in the NFL right now, and you're certain to hear varying answers. Reed was asked the same question this past February, and there isn't a Birds fan walking that will find fault with his theory.

He sandwiches future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Mike Evans between A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

No disrespect is intended to former Eagles duos like Harold Carmichael and Charlie Smith (or Carmichael and Ben Hawkins). We also wouldn't discredit Fred Barnett and Calvin Williams or DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin.

Still, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have already etched themselves into Philly sports lore as the best one-two punch at wide receiver the Birds have fielded.

We'll never forget where we were when A.J. Brown scored that TD in Super Bowl 57 (and Super Bowl 59). We'll never forget 'The Dagger', Jalen Hurts' bomb to DeVonta this past February to all but seal K.C's fate.

There are great duos in the game right now. Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase come to mind. So does Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Maybe we're biased. Maybe we've hit the nail on the head, but we agree with Reed. We place A.J. and DeVonta above all, and if you need a third name, we have no issue with stacking them next to a future HOFer.
