Earlier this month, Myles Garrett sent shockwaves through the NFL when he formally requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns.
Since entering the league as the No. 1 overall pick in 2017, Garrett has been a dominant player for Cleveland. A four-time first-team All-Pro, Garrett has also been selected to six Pro Bowls and was named the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. With the Browns limping to a 3-14 season in 2024, Garrett said he feels he must go elsewhere to chase his dream of winning a Super Bowl.
"As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl - and that goal fuels me today more than ever," Garrett said in a statement. "My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.
"While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won't allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns."

As of now, the Browns have said they don't want to trade Garrett, but assuming a deal eventually gets worked out, several teams are likely suitors.
According to the updated odds from DraftKings, the Washington Commanders remain the clear favorites to land Garrett. Washington, which went 12-5 and made the NFC Championship Game for the first time in 33 years, have +300 odds, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles at +450.
Garrett sticking with the Browns is the next option at +500, with the Buffalo Bills at +550 and Detroit Lions sitting at +650.
Garrett previously said during Super Bowl week he'd be open to joining the Commanders, one of the league's up-and-coming teams behind star quarterback Jayden Daniels, the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
"I think they need a pass-rusher. I think that's something that they dearly missed in the playoffs and some of the big games," Garrett told Sports Illustrated. "And I feel like I can fill that role, but that's a role that multiple teams need."
