Training camp is back in full force, and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is looking as scary on the field as he ever has.
Brown reportedly had a good first day of training camp, with ESPN Eagles beat reporter Tim McManus sharing his highlight play that caught everyone’s attention.
“A.J. Brown (who gets the best of just about everyone he goes against), elevated and snagged a sideline pass over Ringo for one of the day's top highlights.”
After practice, Brown would speak with the media to discuss multiple topics. Brown shared his blunt thoughts on where he feels he stands compared to the rest of the wide receivers in the NFL.
“Just continue to be the best version of myself,” Brown said via Ed Kracz of Sports Illustrated. “I truly feel like I’m the best in the league and uh…I wanna put a stamp on it.”
Brown is in midseason form for the Eagles
It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Brown is looking good early in training camp. Eagles fans have been accustomed to seeing him dominate the field since joining the team in 2022.
Brown had two straight seasons of 1,400+ yards and last year recorded his third consecutive 1,000-yard season. He’s been Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ favorite target throughout the last three years, as Brown has caught at least seven touchdowns in each of those seasons.
Not to mention, Brown has also been selected for two Pro Bowls and has been a second-team All-Pro three consecutive years. Talk about total dominance.
Pro Football Focus graded Brown as the best wide receiver in the NFL. NFL personnel ranked Brown as the fifth-best wide receiver in the NFL as part of a survey by ESPN.
The Eagles will be looking at Brown to keep doing what he does best: catching the ball. He’s proven time and time again to be reliable in one-on-one coverage and beat any cornerback. He’s a threat down the field or on a simple short route.
Brown has everything the Eagles need in a wide receiver and more. That shouldn’t change much in 2025.
