As children, Rasheda and Jamillah had spent a lot of time at the site, but this was their first visit since it was reopened as a tourist attraction, the camp said in a news release.

Rasheda was accompanied by her husband, Bob Walsh, and sons Biaggio and Nico. Jamillah brought her children Nadia, Amira and Jake.

This was the first time any of the twins’ five children had visited their grandfather’s famous training camp, and it happened in the midst of a snowstorm.

The family had a “fantastic time” touring Fighter’s Heaven, played in the snow and enjoyed a large family meal at the famous table in the camp kitchen, the camp said.

The visit brought back many childhood memories for Rasheda and Jamillah, who were impressed at how well the camp has been restored.

“Just coming back here, we are so grateful that Mike Madden has restored this environment not just for us, but for the outside world to share,” the sisters said. “Coming back here has given us such a warm, fuzzy feeling. It is a reminder to all of us how wonderful our father was not just as a boxer, but as a person.”

During their visit, Rasheda and Jamillah were able to speak by phone with owner Mike Madden in California and express how appreciative they are of the ongoing efforts to keep their father’s legacy alive.

Mike Madden and the staff at Fighter’s Heaven were thrilled to have been able to accommodate and help provide this special experience for the Ali family, the camp said.
