“Vanderpump Rules” alum Ally Lewber is updating fans following her breakup with her ex-boyfriend and former castmate, James Kennedy.
While speaking to E! News in April 2025, Lewber said she is in a better place since announcing her split from Kennedy in January 2025. The publication reported that Kennedy was arrested “for domestic violence” following a December 2024 incident that involved Lewber. Kennedy did not face charges, per E! News.
“It’s good to be on the other side of it. I am happy, I love my new apartment, my cats are happy, I’m seeing my friends a lot, which is great. I just feel really blessed,” said Lewber during the interview.
Lewber also said that while she and Kennedy “don’t have any communication right now,” she thinks they are “amicable.”
“There’s not been any ill will or anything. At least from my perspective, I can’t speak for him obviously. I will always wish him the best,” said Lewber to the publication. “Being able to do astrology, I’m just so grateful for that because I’m just able to pour so much of my love and energy into that right.”
Lewber also said she is “really proud” of Kennedy being sober and “in AA and working on himself.” According to Lewber, her ex-boyfriend, who she began dating in January 2022, “is a great person who is a bit wounded.”
Lewber also said she does not regret ending her relationship with Kennedy, as it was “not healthy.” In addition, she told E! News she was not sure if she is ready to date.
“I’m so scared. I don’t think I’m ready, I feel like I’m about to become a true Capricorn where I just pour all of my energy into work. So, we’ll see,” said Lewber while laughing. “I’m not like opposed to it, like the wheels are starting to turn a little bit. But I still have some healing to do.”
Ally Lewber Opened up About Her 2-Year-Long Relationship With James Kennedy
During an April 2025 appearance on “Bachelor” star Nick Viall‘s podcast, “The Viall Files,” Lewber opened up about her two-year-long relationship with Kennedy. According to Lewber, she felt she had to correct his behavior and “walk on eggshells” while they were dating.
She also told Viall that police were called after she and Kennedy argued following Kathy Hilton‘s December 2024 holiday party. Lewber said she was upset with Kennedy because he had consumed alcohol, which he denied. She explained that she had told him she would end their relationship if he ever drank alcohol again.
Lewber said she “wasn’t hurt” during the December 10 incident and “did not press charges.”
In addition, she said while she wants the best for Kennedy, she does not believe they will ever get back together.
“I do have so much love for James that I do want him to heal and to get better. And I want him to fine love. I really do. And I don’t think that will be with me,” said Lewber while recording the podcast episode.
Ally Lewber Spoke About James Kennedy’s DJ Career
During the “Viall Files” podcast episode, Lewber shared her thoughts about Kennedy continuing his DJing career following their breakup. According to Kennedy’s Instagram account, he has recently worked as a DJ at several events and venues, including Neon Carnival, Temple Denver, Bounce Delray Beach, and Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge.
Lewber said she was “happy” for Kennedy. She said, however, that she hoped being a DJ would not cause him to jeopardize his sobriety.
“But not my problem,” continued Lewber on the podcast.
