Andy Cohen opened up about Sunday’s taping of The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 reunion on Tuesday’s episode of his radio show.
Following a series of leaked photos and videos on Instagram, the 56-year-old Watch What Happens Live host and longtime host of Real Housewives reunions teased the upcoming special, noting that while it was “calm” for the most part, that changed when series “friend” Alexis Bellino, 47, arrived on set.
“On Sunday, we did our — I don’t know when we ever shot a reunion on Sunday. It just so happened that that was the day we could all do it, I guess. We did shoot the [RHOC] reunion on Sunday,” Andy confirmed on the October 8 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.
“It was very — we did what we had to do, I think people will be surprised. I think people will be surprised by what I liked,” he continued. “It was very calm. We worked through a lot of things, but it wasn’t people ripping each other’s faces off.”
According to Andy, he was especially happy to see the cast talking through their issues, rather than screaming it out, after the last few episodes of RHOC season 18 saw the ladies at odds.
“When you see the last few episodes of [RHOC], which get especially heated, I do think we needed to [get resolve]. That’s kind of what we did,” he explained.
That said, Alexis made a cameo appearance. And as expected, it was quite eventful. Although Andy couldn’t share any details, it’s safe to assume that her engagement to John Janssen, 61, and John’s lawsuit against Shannon Beador, 60, were discussed.
“I have to say, Alexis, Jesus Jugs, was there for part of it. That was not calm. That was very — it was a lot,” he stated.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
