After facing elimination on Dancing With The Stars, it’s customary for all the contestants to return for the season finale. But rumor has it that the DWTS Season 33 finale will be short at least one competitor. DWTS execs reportedly didn’t want Anna Delvey back in the ballroom under any circumstances.
What exactly fueled their decision?
DWTS Season 33 Allegedly Won’t Feature Anna Delvey
Although Anna Delvey was a controversial competitor from the start, she apparently made friends with her pro dance partner, Ezra Sosa. The first-year pro really empathized with Delvey and asked his online followers to show her kindness after he found her crying in the bathroom.
But that didn’t stop Anna Delvey from completely disrespecting the show once she was eliminated. When asked what she learned from her experience on DWTS, Delvey bluntly said, “Nothing.”
After elimination, many DWTS fans thought the fraudster would sink back into obscurity, but that wasn’t the case. Delvey went on to publicly trash the show and say executives used her to drive up ratings.
“I feel that the show so obviously used me to drive up the ratings, that they never had any plans to give me any chance to grow and only cared about exploiting me for attention,” the 33-year-old told NBC via email. “It was predatory of them to try [to] make me feel inadequate and stupid all while I did get progressively better yet they chose to disregard that.”
“It felt like I was never really given a fair chance by the viewers or some of the judges’ given their nonsensical scoring,” Delvey added. “It’s supposed to be a dance competition and not a popularity contest.”
DWTS Execs Are Fed Up With The Drama
Everyone who faces elimination from Dancing With The Stars struggles with hurt feelings. But not everyone calls out the production team like that. Apparently, that’s what caused execs to ban Anna Delvey from the season finale.
“They just didn’t want the drama that Anna could stir up,” an inside source reportedly shared with Radar Online.
Contestants don’t typically receive bans from special events, but it’s happened to a few pro dancers. After parting ways with Dancing With The Stars, Cheryl Burke and Sharna Burgess both publicly spoke negatively about the series. Neither dancer received an invitation to participate in the Len Goodman tribute last season.
