“Bachelor in Paradise” pot-stirrer Kat Izzo will return to the beach for season 10

We first met Kat during season 27 of The Bachelor. After failing to find love with Zach Shallcross, she headed to Mexico for season 9 of Paradise, where her "journey" to find "love" was, in a word, bumpy.

Upon reaching Playa Escondida, Kat hit it off with Brayden Bowers, a 27-year-old travel nurse — and by "hit it off," I mean "started making out within 45 minutes of meeting each other." That romance quickly fizzled, however, when Tanner Courtad, 32, hit the beach. Kat and Tanner lasted a little longer, but then Tanner ruined Kat's birthday by going on a date with new arrival Davia Bunch.

From there, Kat shifted her attentions to John Henry Spurlock, a 32-year-old welder — and the two of them stayed together for the rest of the season, and even got engaged in the finale.

Alas, "happily ever after" only lasted a few months. On Dec. 11, 2023, just four days after the season 9 finale, Kat and John Henry announced in a joint instagram post that they had ended their engagement: "While our paths are taking different directions due to our career goals not aligning, we are grateful for the love and support we've received from our family, friends, and Bachelor Nation."

For BIP season 10, Kat joins previously announced cast members Zoe McGrady, from Grant's season of The Bachelor; Hakeem Moulton and Jonathon Johnson, from Jenn's season of The Bachelorette; Leslie Fihma, from The Golden Bachelor; and Gary Levingston, from The Golden Bachelorette.

In addition to having Golden contestants joining the show for the first time, Bachelor in Paradise has a new showrunner, Scott Teti (Claim to Fame); a new location, Costa Rica; and a new hangout spot called the Champagne Lounge, where contestants can seek romantic counsel from former Bachelorette Hannah Brown. No doubt she'll be getting an earful from the often-agitated Kat.
