First comes roses, then comes a Neil Lane diamond, then comes Bachelor Nation families.
Ever since and Ryan Sutter found love onThe Bachelorette in 2003, viewers of ABC’s hit franchise have come to love the reality that two perfect strangers can find love on TV and go on to everlasting love with marriage and children.
In August 2021, viewers watched former Bachelorette appear on Bachelor in Paradise. After meeting Thomas Jacobs, the pair went on to welcome their first child in September 2023 and get married one month later.
“When we first started dating in Mexico, we had talked about, ‘Do you want kids? Do I want kids?’ and we aligned on everything,” Becca, 35, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending the LSPACE X Aloha collaboration launch at Swirl Boutique in Carlsbad, California. “He’s a couple years younger than me, but he had been wanting to be a father for so long for so many years.”
This Father’s Day, the couple and their 20-month-old son Benny won’t plan an elaborate date or tropical getaway. Instead, they will spend the day with family creating special memories.
“Thomas loves whiskey so Benny and I ordered a very special bottle of whiskey for him, and he just wants to spend it together,” Becca shared with Us. “We’ll probably do a little pool day, we’ll probably grill for him, drink some whiskey and count our blessings.”
In honor of Father’s Day weekend, we asked some of our favorite moms from Bachelor Nation to write letters of appreciation to their famous husbands – who just happen to also be fantastic dads.
Prepare to fall in love with their thoughtful words of love and appreciation:
Dear Ryan,
When I met you over 22 years ago, I could tell you would be a wonderful father, and for almost 18 years, you have continued to prove me right. You model a life of hard work, humility and bravery and show Max and Blakesley every day what it looks like to be a good person who values family, health, honesty, humor, nature and integrity.
Thank you for inspiring all of us (including Kota!) to be the best versions of ourselves and to appreciate the world around us. I love you more!
Love, Trista (The Bachelorette season 1, Host of iHeartRadio’s “Almost Famous: OG” podcast)
When I was pregnant with Samuel and on a flight with you to our babymoon, I had a little note in my carryon, ready to sneak to you – just like how we exchanged them on the show years before. But this note wasn’t, ‘I’m vegan but I love the beef.’ It wasn’t silly and flirty, it was honest and profound.
I remember it clear as day when you read it, the joy and the happy tears that welled up in your eyes. ‘I hope this baby turns out exactly like you.’
Nine years later, I am so grateful to look at all three of our children and see the attributes that they each share with you and also see the attributes you’ve gained as a father. You are kind, you are steady, you’re a leader, you make everyone laugh, we all want to be around you and when we’re around you, you make us better.
Happy Father’s Day my love! Your family loves you so much! Thank you for choosing us every day.”
Love, Catherine (The Bachelor season 17)
You are the most hands-on father I’ve ever seen, and I truly can’t picture having a baby and starting this family with anyone else but you. We literally fight over who gets to wake up in the morning and take Benny or who gets to put him down in the evenings, and I think that makes him feel how special he is. You want to be there every step of the way, and he’s lucky to have a dad like you to look up to and learn from.
You once read a quote somewhere which said ‘Kids don’t want to be distracted. They want to be included,’ and you truly live by that. Every time we do anything that could be a learning process for Benny, you bring him in and include him, whether its cooking meals in the kitchen, planting a garden, or working on little home projects. He sees how you live, and he will take that with him through life. I think that’s a really cool mentality and one that melts my heart to watch.
You really are the most amazing dad and partner, and Benny and I are the most lucky to have you as our rock. We love you to the moon & back.
