The Bachelorette star, 26, is putting the heartbreaking ending to her season behind her after she and Devin Strader broke up just weeks before the finale aired — and she now has her eye on NBA player Max Strus.
While appearing on The Viall Files podcast on Wednesday, Sept. 11, former Bachelor Nick Viall, 43, asked Tran, “Have the DMs been open? Have you been asked on any dates?”
Though Tran could confidently say “of course” she’s been asked out, she shared that she’s not yet ready to date since parting ways with her former fiancé, 28.
“I truthfully can’t,” she began. “I think of the hottest man alive — if Jayson Tatum, my celebrity crush, came up to me to go on a date, I don’t think I can say ‘yes’ yet because it would be messy. But if he wanted to go on a friend date, I would.”
Viall chimed in, saying he didn’t think grabbing coffee would be too messy, but Tran insisted it would still be too much, too soon.
“I just feel like I’m at a place where I think I’m gonna have a little bit of trust issues for a while, just to be transparent here,” she said, referring to private "texts being released,” adding that she will “need some time to get over that.”
“That was a serious invasion of my privacy. It’s hard to get over that,” Tran added.
However, despite her continuing on her healing process, she said that doesn’t mean the Boston Celtics star, 26, “can’t slide into my DMs.”
As the conversation continued around Tatum, Tran was informed that he’s already off the market and seemingly dating Grammy winner Ella Mai. The two have reportedly been dating since 2020.
With the new knowledge, Tran quickly changed her selection.
“I’m so sorry, Ella,” the reality star said. “You know what? I’m switching my celebrity crush. Max Strus, if you’re out there and you’re single, I’m here and I’m ready.”
When asked who “Max Strus” was Tran replied, “He’s a basketball player,” adding, “I really love basketball.”
Tran, who was announced as part of the cast of Dancing with the Stars season 33 earlier this month, spoke to PEOPLE about her healing journey after her and Strader's split.
"I'm still very much going through a healing process," she said, before joking, "Right now, I hate men, so..."
The television star added that her dance partner Sasha Farber happens to be the only exception to the rule at the moment. "Besides you," she told him while on the red carpet. "I hate all men besides you."
"It's a healing process but right now I'm just so excited for this new opportunity and kinda just being able to jump into something different and something that I've always been wanting to do,” Tran said, adding that she’s "stoked" to join the DWTS "family."
