Rachel Lindsay is used to the public knowing a lot about her life. After all, she was on The Bachelorette. However, the entire world had a front-row seat to the end of her marriage. Despite the heartbreak and public humiliation, she’s finally ready to find love again.
Bachelor Nation viewers first met Rachel Lindsay on The Bachelor. She was a contestant on Nick Viall’s season but didn’t win. She became the first Black Bachelorette for Season 13 of the spinoff. Rachel Lindsay was immediately drawn to chiropractor Bryan Abasolo. He proposed in the season finale.
The couple married in a stunning wedding in 2019. Despite being a lawyer, Rachel Lindsay didn’t get a prenup. It would come back to haunt her. He abruptly filed for divorce in January of 2024. They lived somewhat privately, so news of marriage trouble was unexpected by fans of the franchise.
The two initially were civil during the divorce. He even defended her from online trolls. However, the good will quickly soured and they fought over money.
The dust eventually settled and Rachel Lindsay had to pay her former husband $500,000 in the divorce settlement. The divorce was finalized in January 2025.
The last thing on Rachel Lindsay’s mind when she was in the middle of the divorce was dating again and possibly getting married a second time. However, time has passed and now she feels ready.
She was a guest on The Arch Effect podcast recently. She confided in host Archie Jay that the divorce changed her perception of dating.
“Pre-marriage, I loved dating. I love a first date,” she said. However, that changed for her after the end of her marriage to Bryan Abasolo.
The Bachelorette star admitted that she had no desire to date at first. “I remember thinking right after, though, that I cannot imagine somebody looking at my body and, like, being intimate with them,” she shared. What changed her mind?
According to Rachel Lindsay, her feelings on dating changed when she went on her first-post divorce date. “I couldn’t imagine these things happening — until I went on a first date and then I was like, ‘And we’re back.’”
Even though she’s back in the dating pool, it doesn’t seem the Bachelorette star is in a rush to get married again. She’s focusing instead, on pursuing her career goals. Rachel Lindsay hasn’t even confirmed if she’s dating anyone seriously.
However, multiple outlets have reported in the last few months that Rachel Lindsay is dating just one man. She’s reportedly dating country singer Willie Jones.
With her first date after the divorce behind her, Rachel Lindsay said that she’s back in the dating game. But her statement on the podcast seemed to hint that she might be dating someone exclusively.
“I really just needed to take that first leap and now I’m fully back. I’m back to loving dating. We’re having a good time,” the lawyer said on the podcast.
