The Bachelor star Grant Ellis shared an update about his relationship with fiancée Juliana Pasquarosa, revealing that they plan to have a destination wedding.
“We were in DR on my season, so we’re going to do something for Jules and be in Italy,” Grant, 31, teased about his and Juliana’s wedding plans while speaking to Us Weekly at the Bringing the Beach to Beverly Hills to Rebuild Malibu event on Wednesday, May 21.
After noting that the guest list will include “really close” friends and family, Grant continued, “We’ve been through a lot with the show and the public opinion, so I think the people that know us and love us, we’re going to have a nice close wedding. It’s definitely going to be extravagant, but it’s going to be just family and friends, people that know us and love us.”
Fans watched Grant and Juliana, 29, get engaged during the season 29 finale of The Bachelor in March. He said that he is enjoying “really settling in” the relationship with Juliana, and revealed to the outlet that they plan to redo their proposal closer to their wedding.
“We’ve been taking our relationship just day by day, honestly. She is a person that has a lot of support with family and friends. She’s spending a lot of time with them and with me,” he said. “We’re just now getting into taking things slow, moving together now.”
While Grant and Juliana currently seem happy in their relationship, they faced backlash from viewers over some people believing he didn’t choose her for the right reasons.
“Whatever people have to say, they’re always going to talk. So just lead with love,” Grant said of the criticism they’ve received, adding that it can be “tough” to see nasty comments online about them. “That’s what me and Jules do really well. So whatever people say, they don’t really know like that.”
Grant gave his final rose to Juliana after he broke up with runner-up Litia Garr, who was openly blindsided after she and Grant discussed having a future together. Litia, 31, called Grant out for leading her on and giving her false hope during the After the Final Rose special, while she further opened up about their split while appearing on the “Relationsh*t with Kamie Crawford” podcast on April 11.
“He was saying things like, ‘I can’t wait for the cameras to go away and we can just be together. I just want to hang out and talk and chat and not feel like we have to talk about heavy stuff all the time,’” Litia recalled of a conversation she had with Grant before they called it quits. “We had light moments, but the things that were shown definitely were the most important things that were being discussed.”Litia continued, “When leaving my suite, I was like, ‘OK, I’ll see you tomorrow. I can’t believe it, like, we’re getting engaged,’ because of all the things he had just said to me during the whole conversation. He was like, ‘I know. I can’t wait. I love you. I love you. I love you,’ when he was being, like, rushed out the door.”
She went on to explain that his behavior led her to believe that they were getting engaged. “I stood there and I was like, ‘If it’s not me, he won’t let me speak.’ After everything that he said, hopefully he would just let me know before I do my big declaration — he knows what I’m about to say,” she explained. “And we stood there for a minute, and he was like, ‘They told me to let you talk first.’ He, like, prompted me to give my speech. And so I was like, ‘Oh, OK, like, great. I’ll just say everything that I need to say.’”
