Bethenny Frankel opened up about 14-year-old daughter Bryn Casey Hoppy‘s relationship with her father, Jason Hoppy, on a recent episode of her podcast, sharing that they are in a good place.

Just weeks after the Real Housewives of New York City alum, 53, accused Jason of “[bullying]” her into conceiving the child and said his family tried to take Bryn away from her, Bethenny described Bryn’s relationship with her dad and grandparents to her listeners

“My daughter has a meaningful and positive relationship with her father and with her grandparents — a significant relationship. It’s important that I say that, a healthy relationship. She has a healthy relationship with her father and his parents and to me, that is so important,” Bethenny shared on her podcast, Just B With Bethenny Frankel, via Bye Wig Hello Drama on Instagram.

Although Bethenny and Jason had a tumultuous marriage and an even more troublesome divorce, she acknowledged that Jason was the “first male relationship” Bryn would ever have — and that it would set the tone for all future relationships she has with males.

“And I love that she has an amazing relationship with her grandparents because I don’t have that on my side and I want that for her. We should want what’s best for our kids,” Bethenny continued.

According to Bethenny, Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, said that any person that comes into Tiger’s life means more love for her kids and she agrees.

“I want my child to have love in her life and go to family reunions and holidays that can be busy and annoying and obligations and, you know, different cultures, different experiences. I want that for her,” she shared. “I love that for her, that she gets that small-town, family experience with the family tree and the cousins and relatives and those things on her father’s side and that’s amazing for her. And she gets different things from me.”

Bethenny went on to suggest that no matter how contentious things were and continue to be between her and Jason, she doesn’t want her hatred for him to get in the way of what’s best for Bryn.

“Also, someone can love their child as a general concept, this is not being specific, someone can love their child and hate their ex and someone can hate their ex more than they love their child at certain points. There are many different things that can go on,” she added.

Bethenny Frankel appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City seasons one through three and seven through 11.
