Big Firing May Be Coming to the Minnesota Wild Imminently
The Minnesota Wild could be getting ready to move on from Judd Brackett, their director of amateur scouting, especially if GM Bill Guerin doesn't trust him.
Are the Minnesota Wild preparing to move on from director of amateur scouting Judd Brackett?
Wild fans have noticed in recent years that several of Minnesota's recent draft picks are either toiling away in the AHL or have outright been traded by general manager Bill Guerin.
Noted recent Wild picks like Marat Khusnutdinov and Daemon Hunt are no longer with the team; Khusnutdinov, taken with the 37th pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, was traded with Jakub Lauko and a 6th round draft pick to the Boston Bruins for Justin Brazeau.
Meanwhile, Hunt, who was taken 65th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in November for David Jiřiček.

Kalisha Turnipseed of Hockey Wilderness is openly wondering whether Brackett and Guerin are eye to eye with one another, and if it could eventually lead to Brackett's departure from the franchise.
Guerin hired Brackett early in his tenure, and something has to give eventually. Either Brackett isn't drafting the right players, or Guerin has no patience and belief in developing them. The Wild can't afford this disconnect forever. If Guerin keeps flipping Brackett's picks before they mature, why keep Brackett?
Minnesota's run of mediocrity continued into this year, as they were once again knocked from the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They've not advanced past the opening round since 2015.
Guerin's job security could soon also come into question if the Wild don't go on an extended playoff run before long.
