Kathy Swarts Looks For Love On Bachelor In Paradise

Kathy Swarts became a fan favorite after she told Theresa Nist to “Zip it” on Gerry Turner’s Season of Golden Bachelor. In a first for the Bachelor in Paradise series, Kathy joined other Golden participants on Paradise Island on Season 10 of the hit dating show. Season 10 of BIP features contestants of all ages who have quickly mingled with one another.

Kathy finds herself looking for love again after her husband, Daryl, tragically passed away from suicide. The pair were married for 46 years. Kathy and Daryl shared three children. She has been vocal about how her husband’s passing has affected her. Kathy said:

“I think his death gave me a real appreciation for every day of life. And that’s why I seize every opportunity that comes my way because you never know when your last day is here.”

 

Kathy Swarts spoke out about her decision to find love by participating in Bachelor in Paradise. She said that her children are used to seeing their mom look for love in non-traditional ways. She said the kids just want her to be happy. Swarts explained:

“I got the offer to come, and who would turn that fabulous opportunity down? Who wouldn’t want another chance at love?”

Kathy Swarts Reveals Secret That Shocks Cast And Fans

During a cast exercise on Tuesday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Kathy Swarts stood out and shocked fans. BIP host Jesse Palmer asked the cast members to write their most shocking secrets down anonymously and place them in a box. Jesse then read the secrets out loud, and cast members could choose to reveal themselves or not. Palmer revealed the secret: “I slept with another person in my home while my partner was in another room.”

The cast was all shocked by the secret. Kathy Swarts revealed that this was her secret. She ended up winning the ability to use the luxurious VIP suite at Paradise’s Costa Rica resort. Kathy chose to take The Golden Bachelorette contestant Keith Gordon to the Luxury suite. The secret was so outrageous that fans began to wonder if Kathy cheated on her husband, Daryl Swarts. Kathy had to explain to fans what she meant in her secret revelation. She said:

“The truth is, I am a wordsmith, and I worded that very carefully. The someone that I was sleeping with was my two-year-old son, and the partner was my husband. And why was I sleeping with my two-year-old son? Because [at the time] he was sick. He was projectile vomiting, and my husband had to go to work the next day, so I said, ‘Go sleep in the next room. I got this.’ So I didn’t lie. It’s all true. The someone I was sleeping with was my two-year-old son. I did not cheat on my husband.”
