Former Oregon Ducks star Bo Nix was selected No. 12 overall in April's 2024 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, giving him and Coach Sean Payton's team a chance to show the NFL what an efficient, winning rookie quarterback looks like in year one in the Mile High City.

Nix's rookie season with Denver has gone better than expected with a 6-5 record culminating in a blistering 38-6 win over the NFC South contending Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.

Nix made fantasy owners incredibly happy as he completed 28-of-33 passes for 307 yards and fourth touchdowns on the day.

Afterward, Falcons coach Raheem Morris gave Nix a compliment that sounded familiar to football fans who have followed the career of the former Alabama high cchool superstar during his days in high school and college.

"Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said Broncos quarterback Bo Nix played flawless football," Falcons beat writer Terrin Waack said on Monday.

Nix has now completed 70% or more of his passes four times this season, a number that many fans feel could continue to improve as the season goes along.

Nix's current completion percentage is just over 65 percent for the season, a solid mark for a rookie, but also a hair less than the 77.45% record he set among all quarterbacks in FBS history with the Oregon Ducks.

The Broncos signal caller is once again learning the importance of spreading the ball around in his team's offensive attack as the season spirals toward its inevitable conclusion.

"I think it's important you take what the defense gives you, trust you are prepared, get the ball out and find the open guy," Nix said. "That's the best way, don't force a mistake where the defense wants you to make one."
