Robert Griffin III Reveals How Patrick Mahomes Can Surpass Tom Brady

A three-peat is a very tall ask, but if anyone can accomplish it, then it’s Patrick Mahomes. And if succeed in doing so, then former NFL QB Robert Griffin III asserted that the two-time NFL MVP will surpass Tom Brady.

The Chiefs joined the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots’ elite group by winning back-to-back Super Bowls after beating the San Francisco 49ers in February. However, neither of them managed to win the Lombardi Trophy three seasons in a row.

RG3, who has watched both Brady and Mahomes’ careers, claimed the 28-year-old has the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be crowned as the best ever by winning the next Super Bowl in Louisiana.

Even though Tom Brady has seven in his trophy cabinet, Griffin argued Mahomes will surpass the former Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB because of the domination he and the Chiefs have shown in the last 5 years.

If he [Patrick Mahomes] can win three in a row, he will surpass Tom Brady and be the greatest quarterback ever. Robert Griffin III said on his podcast ‘RG3 and the Ones

RG3’s statement came after Brady hypothesized it would be very hard for Mahomes and the Chiefs to win three in a row.

To win 3 in a row, there's a reason why no one's done it. Those players are going to have to show up every day and put the work in like they. Tom Brady in an episode of FS1’s The Herd

Regardless of the difficulties, Brady added that the Chiefs have a very well-balanced squad with an experienced and proven head coach in Andy Reid.

Michael Lombardi gave the verdict on whether Patrick Mahomes can secure a three-peat

Football analyst Michael Lombardi agreed with Brady’s assessment. Lombardi mentioned Terry Bradshaw Troy Aikman, and John Elway weren’t successful in their era.

[Tom’s right], there’s such a thin margin and you find it hard that you can continue that margin moving forward because this Chief team when you take a step back isn't quite the same team they were last year. Michael Lombardi said via The Lombardi Line

He kept the 49ers ahead of the Chiefs to win the next Super Bowl. According to the Vegas Insider, the 49ers are +550 while the Chiefs are +600, Baltimore Ravens +950, Cincinnati Bengals +1300, Buffalo Bills +1300, Detroit Lions +1300, Philadelphia Eagles +1400, and Dallas Cowboys +1500.

All of those teams have a great chance to win the Super Bowl.
