“The Valley” star Brittany Cartwright is opening up about her dating life.
During an April 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, Cartwright referenced that she filed for divorce from her estranged husband and co-star, Jax Taylor, in August 2024. The former couple share a 4-year-old son named Cruz.
According to Cartwright, she has “been on some dates” following her January 2024 separation from Taylor.
“I have a couple crushes. I have a crush, for sure. But nothing serious yet. Like a really hot crush,” said Cartwright.
She also said that her crush gives her “butterflies.”
“Everytime you get a text you’re like ‘Ah!'” said Cartwright with a laugh.
Cartwright also told the publication that her ideal romantic partner is “somebody that can make [her] laugh,” “is fun,” and enjoys the company of children because her son “is the most important thing in [her] life.” In addition, she wants to date “someone who is nice.”
“I was treated really bad for a while,” said Cartwright during the Access Hollywood interview.
Brittany Cartwright Spoke About Filing for Divorce
During a December 2024 interview on the “Bravo’s Hot Mic” podcast, Cartwright discussed why she decided to file for divorce from Taylor. She said that while Taylor was in a mental health facility during the summer of 2024, he was sending her hurtful text messages. In addition, Cartwright said she was concerned Taylor would convince her to stay married to him once he left the facility.
She also said that she did not regret her decision to go forward in her divorce.
“I’m so glad I did,” said Cartwright during the podcast episode.
Brittany Cartwright Spoke About Co-Parenting With Jax Taylor
While speaking to Extra in April 2025, Cartwright discussed co-parenting her son with Taylor. She said they are “trying [their] best” to raise Cruz, who was diagnosed with autism in late 2024.
“[Taylor] loves his son, I know that. Co-parenting is the most important thing,” said Cartwright to the publication.
Cartwright also commented on Taylor announcing that he has been sober from alcohol and cocaine for over three months. Cartwright explained why she has some difficulty feeling proud of Taylor.
“I want him to get help more than anybody else [but] a lot of trust has been lost between us. And I want him to get help more than anyone else in this entire world. And I hope that he is really going to stick to it,” said Cartwright while speaking to Extra.
Cartwright and Taylor will appear in the second season of “The Valley,” which premieres on April 15.
