Brittany Mahomes rethinking Donald Trump support after ex-president's dig at Taylor Swift: Report

Brittany Mahomes has been facing a dilemma for quite some time. And she's now taking definitive action to resolve it.

For the past year, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been best friends with Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of tight end Travis Kelce. But that friendship came under intense scrutiny after the multi-platinum pop superstar announced that she would back vice-president Kamala Harris in November's presidential elections.

That's in stark contrast to Brittany's endorsement of Donald Trump via liking his social media posts. But that may end soon after the former President attacked Swift in one of his "tweets". An insider told the Daily Mail:

"She is questioning her support for Donald Trump after he lashed out at Taylor, saying he hates her. This deeply bothered Brittany because Taylor is like a sister to her and she has done absolutely nothing wrong."

However, it doesn't necessarily mean that Brittany Mahomes will switch sides:

"This doesn't mean she is suddenly voting Kamala. It has just made her more aware of supporting him so publicly."

As Brittany Mahomes rethinks Trump support, Patrick Mahomes remains neutral ahead of 2024 election

Patrick Mahomes is not taking any sides as the election draws nearer. Speaking to reports during last week's practice, Brittany Mahomes' husband said:

“I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate either way. I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family.”

When asked about his thoughts on Brittany's tacit support of Trump, he declined to comment, instead focusing on their community efforts:

“In political times, people are going to use stuff here and there, but I can’t let that affect how I go about my business every single day of my life, and trying to live it to the best of my ability.”

HIs teammate Travis Kelce, meanwhile, is expected to announce that he will join Taylor Swift in backing Harris, according to a Daily Mail source.
