Tight ends, Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland are both considered to be prime targets for the Broncos at pick #20 come next Thursday's draft-day opener.
However, the team still have an excellent option at TE in 2 x Pro Bowler, Evan Engram, who joined the team this past offseason after getting cut from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And amidst all the "joker" talk from Sean Payton, Engram has shed light on one big factor that bought him to the Mile High City.
Speaking on Bennie Fowler's podcast, Engram notes that the impressive rookie season of quarterback, Bo Nix, bought Denver to the front of his mind.
"My biggest thing was just watching his tape...He has everything that it takes to be great in this league. The biggest thing that stood out to me was his presence in the pocket." Engram told Fowler, "He’s very calm, very collected. When the pocket does break down, the plays he can make on his feet while having his eyes downfield is something that you have to continue to put great talent around because that is a weapon. That is a true weapon".
Nix certainly proved some doubters wrong with an excellent pre-season that was followed up with a very respectable rookie season, receiving the second most amount of second-place votes in the AP 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Voting (behind Brock Bowers)
This season will provide a large insight as to whether the former Giant's faith in the ex-Oregon QB was well-placed.
