The Denver Broncos have finally figured out the quarterback position with youngster Bo Nix.
However, things could get tricky if he were to go down with an injury.
The Broncos don't have a great backup on their roster, and they didn't last season, either.
Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham are pending free agents, and from the team's perspective, there isn't much of a reason to bring either of them back.
Wilson didn't do much during his time with the Broncos, and while that was only shown during practices, he didn't do enough during the offseason to warrant playing time.
There are a few options the Broncos could pursue on the free agency market, and finding a veteran willing to be a backup would be the wise decision.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports believes that could be former Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston.
Winston was a starter throughout his career but has struggled in recent showings, turning the ball over too much.
Since then, he's strictly been a backup.
At this stage of his career, he might not be much more than that, but he did note that he wants to be a starter on a team.
Unfortunately, the Broncos won't be able to offer him that, but he has a history with Sean Payton and could be willing to take a backup role with his former head coach.
