Broncos to Re-Sign Special Teams Ace LB Justin Strnad

Broncos re-sign ILB Justin Strnad to 1-year contract

The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.7 million contract with linebacker Justin Strnad, per Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. The deal with Strnad is fully guaranteed.

Strnad, who was drafted by Denver in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, is coming off a career year with the Broncos after he finished with 73 total tackles. Strnad was on the field for 59% of defensive snaps, also a career-high.

Justin Strnad’s play on special teams earned him a starting spot on the defense as the 2024 season rolled along, opposite of All-Pro OLB Nik Bonitto.

While Strnad’s athleticism doesn’t jump off the screen, he is credited with being one of the smartest players on the team, according to multiple Broncos coaches. Since missing his entire rookie year due to wrist surgery, Strnad has not missed any games due to injury in the past four seasons. Strnad’s intangibles and ability to stay on the field are what separate him in an injury-riddled league.

It will be interesting to see how Strnad’s 2025 season fairs, considering more competition will arrive via the draft and the rest of free agency.
