Browns Insider Reveals Shocking Take on GM Job Security

The Cleveland Browns took a huge step backward last season with a 3-14 record and a last-place finish in the AFC North.

That abysmal performance was on the heels of an impressive 11-6 campaign in 2023 that saw Cleveland finish second in the division, two games behind North champion Baltimore and a playoff appearance.

Browns Insider Reveals Shocking Take on GM Job Security

It took five quarterbacks to lead the Browns in 2023, followed by four different starters in 2024.  The trade and contract involving Deshaun Watson has seemingly handcuffed the franchise, as it still struggles to find a solution under center.

It's because of that Watson deal combined with the poor performance in 2024 that some feel that general manager Andrew Berry is on the hot seat, or at least he should be.

But Browns insider Tony Grossi doesn't agree ... yet.

“I’m beginning to believe that this mulligan that these guys received this year after a 3-14 season is a two-year mulligan, meaning they’re in for two years," Grossi said.

"As an organization, they might have looked at this draft and explained to [Jimmy] Haslam, ‘Unless we get Cam Ward, we’re not going to find the answer here in this draft.’ ... They’re not drafting for their jobs."

The curious part of this claim is that neither of the two top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft is considered a long-term franchise player.

However, with the Browns' situation, they may not have a choice but to take a flier on either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders at No. 2.
