Buccaneers First Draft Pick Odds Updated

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and general manager Jason Licht are feverishly preparing for next week's NFL Draft.

Licht has been a masterful drafter of much-needed positions of strength over the past 11 years, and his success has shown on and off the field.

Buccaneers First Draft Pick Odds Updated

Licht and coach Todd Bowles have already noted they'll be targeting the defense in next week's selection process, but that doesn't mean they'll pass up on star offensive players if they present themselves during the seven rounds of fun.

While betting odds have shifted for many teams based on rumors and scheduled pre-draft visits, the Bucs' odds have remained steady for a defensive player throughout the process.

And DraftKings recently updated its favorites for which positions each team is likely to draft first.

The Buccaneers' most likely position, at +150 per the DraftKings website, is edge rusher. And that's a position group they've already addressed this offseason in free agency with the addition of Haason Reddick.

Reddick was brought in to play alongside Yaya Diaby, while the interior will be filled by Vita Vea and Calijah Kancey. But depth has recently been an issue in Tampa Bay, and a weakness, so it makes sense the Bucs and Licht would address this first.

Tampa Bay picks at No. 19 in the first round, barring any trades up or down, and defense is a good bet.
