With the 2025 NFL draft passing and the bulk of the top free agents already practicing with their new teams, many of the exciting moments of the offseason have come and gone.
However, one aspect that's sure to catch fans' attention is the list of The Top 100 Players of 2025, which is voted on by players themselves, and on Wednesday, the NFL revealed that Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David landed at No. 96.
That wound up catching the attention of the Buccaneers, who celebrated the news with their own social media post, captioned, "The most underrated linebacker in the NFL."
David is coming off a solid 2024 season, starting all 17 games, racking up 122 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception, six pass deflections, 13 pressures and six quarterback hits.
This also marks the seventh time he's earned this impressive achievement, with his lowest placement being in 2014, when he earned the No. 35 spot.
That's not a huge surprise, though, as he's been consistent throughout his 13-year career, all with the Buccaneers, accumulating 1,602 tackles, 169 tackles for loss, 39 sacks, 13 interceptions and 70 pass deflections.
That led the 35-year-old to earn several exciting personal accolades, including one Pro Bowl nod, being named First-Team All-Pro once and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.
Now, it will remain to be seen if David can be a contributor to the Buccaneers' relatively high aspirations in 2025, as ESPN BET gives them the best odds to win the NFC South (even) and tied for the 13th-best (+3000) to win the Super Bowl.
