The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Saints in New Orleans Sunday in an effort to put the 36-30 collapse to the Atlanta Falcons out of their minds.
Unfortunately, that may not be what’s dominating their thoughts Monday. Yes, there’s another hurricane heading towards the greater Tampa Bay area. This comes just weeks after the area was hit by hurricane Helene.
“The most likely track suggests Milton could make landfall in or near the Tampa Bay area by 2 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, and remain a hurricane as it moves across central Florida into the Atlantic Ocean, forecasters said.”
“Bucs are not expected to practice today and are evaluating the best plan to handle this week with Hurricane Milton approaching from the Gulf of Mexico. They play Sunday at the Saints.”
“#Bucs have a team meeting today but no practice. Their offices are closed in advance of Hurricane Milton. They will evaluate whether the team will need to relocate in advance of Sunday’s game at New Orleans.”
This hurricane is nothing to take lightly, especially on the back of Helene. The majority of the greater Tampa Bay area is still cleaning up from Helene, and most streets are lined with said debris. A recipe for disaster.
“Bucs will leave Tampa for New Orleans on Tuesday morning and spend the week there ahead of Sunday’s game. Allows players and their families to safely get out of the path of Hurricane Milton.”
“In advance of Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall, the Buccaneers will depart Tampa on Tuesday morning. The team will relocate operations to the New Orleans area for the remainder of the week leading up to Sunday’s game at the Saints. Media availabilities will be conducted virtually beginning on Wednesday.”
