Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield gets roasted by Tom Brady during broadcast

Baker Mayfield may be 12-9 as a Buccaneer after Tampa Bay’s 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles but he’s 0-1 against Fox broadcaster and future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

Earlier this month, Mayfield seemed to suggest that his relaxed demeanor was better suited for a Tampa Bay locker room than that of his predecessor and seven-time Super Bowl champion during an appearance on MLB star Corey Kluber’s podcast, “Casa de Klub.”

“The building was a little bit different with Tom in there,” Mayfield said. “Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out. They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren’t having as much fun.”

Long considered one of the most competitive players in NFL history, Brady didn’t hold back when given a chance to respond by Fox play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt during Sunday’s broadcast.

Ouch. Mayfield hasn’t been taken down that hard since he tried to run from the Fayetteville police. For what it’s worth, Brady retired with 4,846 more completions (7,753) than Mayfield has attempts (2,907) and 510 more touchdowns.

Perhaps Mayfield will choose his words more carefully moving forward.
