The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will enter the 2025 season as favorites for the NFC South and as one of the top teams in the conference.
With only the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and the Washington Commanders ahead of them, the Buccaneers will be in the race for the top seeds in the NFC in 2025.
Well, that's what we think.
Pro Football Focus, in naming 10 teams with their Super Bowl windows open, has left the Buccaneers off the list.
Granted, you will be hard pressed to find many people who genuinely think the Buccaneers can win the Super Bowl, but PFF lists the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers who have seen their roster gutted, as teams with their Super Bowl window open.
Outrageous?
We can make the case that the Buccaneers are at least on their level.
Still managing a 10-7 season and a home playoff game last season despite the injury bug ravaging the roster, shows how the franchise can play when it has its full roster available.
Coming into the 2025 season, the Buccaneers will again have their detractors, despite winning the division twice and making the playoffs, yet some still want more.
Baker Mayfield is coming off a career-best year, while Bucky Irving is set to continue his trajectory to stardom with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans riding shotgun. The Buccaneers have weapons everywhere, and Haason Reddick added more bite to the pass rush.
If, and that's a big if, the Buccaneers can get an easier run with injuries, there's nothing to suggest that they can't compete with the best teams in football.
The Super Bowl window might not be open, but the Buccaneers can certainly give it a nice nudge in 2025.
