Colquitt served as the Chiefs’ punter from 2005 to 2019, becoming one of the longest-tenured players in franchise history. In his 15 seasons in Kansas City, he set multiple team records and matched fellow punter Jerrel Wilson for the most seasons played with the organization.

After his release in April 2020, Colquitt spent time on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons. He also had a brief return to the Chiefs’ practice squad from January to February 2021.

Off the field, he’s widely known for his community involvement and charity work. He is a long-time supporter of TeamSmile and his "Punting for Smiles" campaign, which provides dental care to underserved children.

The news of Colquitt’s return to the Chiefs was shared and quickly picked up across social media. Among those celebrating the moment was Ava Hunt, one of the daughters of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, who reposted the announcement on her Instagram story with the caption "The legend @dqp47."

Hunt also commented on the post, saying "The best @dqp47," two hours after the announcement was posted.

Thanks to his on-field consistency and off-field impact, Colquitt’s retirement is being met with appreciation across the Chiefs Kingdom.
