Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Described Using Brutal 1 Word

One could argue that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been the best quarterback in football over the past couple of seasons.

After going from a gunslinger to more of a game manager over the past two seasons, the Chiefs aren't the swashbuckling offense we used to see.

Plus, Mahomes' weapons aren't as glorified as they used to be either, and in 2023, he won the Super Bowl with rookie Rashee Rice as his go-to receiver, along with Travis Kelce as the defense took over as the straw that stirs the team's drink.

But now, as the Chiefs are coming off a bad Super Bowl loss, and most of Mahomes' weapons are hitting free agency, the winds of change are blowing through Arrowhead again.

In a neat exercise, Bleacher Report describes every franchise's star player, and for Mahomes, it's interesting.

"Unsupported -- It’s a sad reality now, but he doesn’t have the weapons or the protection he once had, and it’s about to get a whole lot worse with Trey Smith and practically his entire pass-catching corps potentially on the way out this offseason," Bleacher Report writes.

Smith has been franchise-tagged, so even if a deal isn't worked out, Mahomes will still have Trey in 2025. Plus, the Chiefs could easily address the offensive line in free agency or the draft, and we expect them to do so.

As for Patrick's weapons, though, that's real.

Juju Smith-Schuster, DeAndre Hopkins, and Marquise Brown are all free agents, leaving the returning Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy as his go-to guys. Plus, Travis Kelce will be another year older as well.

But the Chiefs will get Mahomes weapons, and it isn't known if they will be like Brown and Hopkins or if they will draft him a stud.
