Chiefs Send 3-Word Message to Texans Before Playoff Game

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the postseason looking to become the first team to ever with a Super Bowl three-peat. While that goal seemed lofty at first, after finishing the regular season 15-2, the best record in the league, the Chiefs seem well on their way to making NFL history.

Chiefs Send 3-Word Message to Texans Before Playoff Game

Kansas City clinched the No. 1 seed after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. With a first-round bye and home field advantage secured, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid rested quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the bulk of the team's starters during their regular season finale against the Denver Broncos.

Like all NFL fans, the Chiefs were glued to the TV over wild-card weekend. On Sunday, Kansas City learned their opponent in the AFC divisional round will be the Houston Texans and sent them a message.

"See you soon," they wrote on X.

The Texans punched their ticket to the divisional round after dismantling the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 at NRG Stadium on Saturday. Houston, being the No. 4 seed, will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face Kansas City next week, much like they did in Week 16, less than a month ago.

While there was serious concern over Mahomes' health during that Dec. 21 matchup, as he suffered a high-ankle sprain just six days earlier, the 29-year-old didn't appear to be hindered by any pain.

The three-time Super Bowl MVP finished against the Texans completing 28-of-41 for 260 yards and a touchdown, along with five carries for 33 yards and a score.

Reid spent the extended playoff bye week preparing for all of their possible opponents.

"[It's] crazy, but we've played all the teams that are in the [AFC] playoffs," Reid said. "You've got to go back, though. You can't be content with that. The four teams that we have a chance to potentially play in a couple weeks here, we've tried to hammer those out."

The Chiefs open as 7.5-favorites to defeat the Texans next weekend, however, Houston was also considered the underdog team against Los Angeles.
