Chiefs Send Clear Message After Super Bowl Loss

   

The Kansas City Chiefs entered Super Bowl LIX with a potentially historic feat in mind. 

Kansas City had an opportunity to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls but were halted by the Philadelphia Eagles. 

The Eagles dominated the Chiefs 40-22 en route to the Lombardi Trophy. 

Chiefs Send Clear Message After Super Bowl Loss

Following the brutal loss for Kansas City, the Chiefs' official social media page posted a message for fans, sending a clear promise of the team's future success. 

"Fell short of the goal, but we will be back," posted the Chiefs. 

Kansas City mightily struggled on both ends of the field. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes finished the game with three touchdowns and 257 yards, completing 21-of-32 pass attempts. 

He also recorded two interceptions and posted just 33 yards during the first half of the Super Bowl matchup. 

The offense finished Super Bowl LIX with just 275 total yards and 12 first-down conversions. 

The Chiefs capped off the season with a 17-3 record, having defeated the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills during the postseason. 

After taking their fifth trip to the Super Bowl in the past six years, Kansas City will head back to the drawing board under the leadership of Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid.
