Chiefs Urged to Add 24-Touchdown WR After Loss to Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their first game on Sunday, losing on the road to the AFC rival Buffalo Bills. It was the Chiefs' defense that surrendered a season-high 30 points, however, Kansas City managed only 259 total yards on offense as Patrick Mahomes recorded his third multi-interception game this year.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray (83) celebrates with quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) after a touchdown during the NFL Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, November 17, 2024 in Buffalo, NY.

Even on a day where tight end Travis Kelce was held to two catches for eight yards, rookie Xavier Worthy (61 yards) was the only Chiefs wideout with more than 29 yards.

In its NFL Team Needs roundup before Week 12, Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine listed wide receiver as the team's No. 1 roster need. As a potential solution, he suggested the Chiefs target Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.

"Emeka Egbuka might not ever become the team's No. 1 receiver, but his hands, route-running and timing drew comparisons to Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Amon-Ra St. Brown in Dame Parson's scouting report," Ballentine wrote.

Egbuka, 22, has recorded 24 touchdowns (two rushing) throughout his four-year collegiate career at OSU. He was a Paul Hornung Award finalist in 2022 after posting 74 catches, 1,151 yards and 12 total touchdowns with C.J. Stroud as his quarterback.

This year as a senior, while playing alongside freshman phenom receiver Jeremiah Smith, the 6-foot-1, 203-pound former five-star recruit has posted 49 receptions, 612 yards and eight scores through 10 games.
