As Chris Kreider starts this next chapter of his career with the Anaheim Ducks, let’s look back at his rocky last season with the New York Rangers.
Kreider’s tenure with the Rangers was mostly filled with good memories, but he went through some struggles during the 2024-25 season.
Over the course of the year, Kredier dealt with a number of injuries that he played through while he was the subject of some trade rumors and his statistical numbers took a substantial dip.
The 34-year-old admitted that this season was difficult both from a team and individual standpoint.
“Yeah, it was defensively challenging,” Kreider said. “I think we would have all liked it to have gone differently than it went, but at the end of the day, we can only learn from it. Some weird, fluky injuries I had to deal with at the worst possible moments. We are all hockey players, we all want to play through some things. It was a tough year, but all you can do is learn from it and try to be better.”
Kreider was traded to the Ducks in June, and he now rejoins his former Rangers teammates Jacob Trouba, Frank Vatrano, and Ryan Strome in Anaheim.
