Coming into the NFL, former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix was overlooked a bit despite being drafted with the No. 12 overall pick by the Denver Broncos.
As the fifth passer selected in the draft, there was a narrative that the former Heisman Trophy finalist was not going to stand up compared to the other rookie QBs in the draft class. In reality, he's been just as good, if not better than every other quarterback in his class.
That much was clear on Sunday afternoon with Nix's play against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos' QB was surgical, slicing and dicing the Raiders' secondary up and down the field with ease.
His last second touchdown of the game — a laser to WR Courtland Sutton in the back of the endzone — elicited a bold five-word statement from Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd.
"Bo Nix is REALLY good," Cowherd wrote on social media.
It's hard to argue with that statement. Coming into the game, Nix was second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race, trailing only Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. With 14 passing TDs, three rushing TDs, and two interceptions over the last nine games, it was clear that Denver got the young franchise passer they were hoping for.
Nix was stellar in this game as well, completing 25-of-42 passes for 273 yards, two TDs, and no turnovers.
While the game is not yet over for the Broncos, the overwhelming takeaway will once again be that this team has found their QB of the future after years of searching in Denver. Bo Nix is hear to stay, and as Cowherd says, he is REALLY good.
