Craig Conover’s most recent “splurge” wasn’t a fancy car, an extravagant vacation, or a shiny new tech device. Nope, it was his incredible backyard renovation.
The Southern Charm-er revealed this in a recent interview with Life & Style magazine, suggesting the project required a lot of time; energy; and, of course, money.
“I basically built everything that makes me happy,” he said when asked to name his “recent splurge purchase.”
Craig proceeded to highlight some of his most envy-inducing backyard features, including his outdoor kitchen, the mounted big-screen TV, and his in-ground swimming pool. He also made sure to mention his backyard hive boxes as well as his impressive garden that includes flowers, vegetables, and herbs.
Craig Conover updates his Charleston home
Since purchasing his home several years ago, Craig has made many jaw-dropping upgrades to both the interior and exterior. The Delaware native has done everything from knocking down walls and installing new fixtures to replacing the floors and getting new windows. However, his outdoor project was the most impressive and, perhaps, most ambitious endeavor.
One of Craig’s first tasks was expanding his patio, which now includes a lounge area and a modern kitchenette. He has also added a screened-in porch, a full-sized swimming pool, an attached hot tub, and a miniature putting
Paige DeSorbo puts her touch on Craig's backyard
After completing his major backyard projects, Craig enlisted his Summer House girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, for an assist. The New York-based influencer helped fill out the space with a few decorative and furniture pieces.
Paige selected a simple yet chic white side table; an Ammsun beach umbrella with UV ray-blocking fabric; and a sleek sun-lounger with a wooden frame and light-beige cushions. Paige elevated the latter with a couple of pink pillows from Craig’s Sewing Down South homegoods line.
Craig shares an update on his and Paige's family plans
Elsewhere in the interview, Craig spoke about his long-distance relationship with Paige, explaining why he believed they were such a “good fit.”
“Being in the same industry helps,” he said. “I’ve dated people who weren’t on TV, and that’s fine, too, but it’s cool to experience this with Paige. There are probably less than 150 Bravo people out there.”
The Southern Charm-er also touched on his plans to start a family with Paige but emphasized they were in no rush to settle down.
“The goal is to one day be married and have kids, but we realize we still have plenty of time to do that,” he continued. “There’s a false sense of urgency that’s put onto you, and I was guilty of that, too. We want to just let things evolve organically. We’re enjoying the life we’re living now.”
