Craig Conover’s Split From Paige DeSorbo May Not Be as Amicable as Fans Thought

When Paige DeSorbo announced on the December 30 episode of her hit podcast, “Giggly Squad,” that she and Craig Conover had decided to “no longer be together” after three years, the news sent shockwaves throughout the Bravoverse. 

At the time, the “Summer House” star insisted that there was no “bad blood” between herself and the “Southern Charm” star, saying, “I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing.”

Now, just a few weeks later, clues are starting to emerge that the split may have been slightly more one-sided than DeSorbo initially indicated.

A week after DeSorbo announced their split, Conover finally addressed his fans, admitting he was still “shocked” by the demise of his relationship and hinting that the decision to go their separate ways may not have been his. 

“I was very shocked and it’s ok, it takes two people to be in a relationship,” he added. “You can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it.”

Now, a December 5 interview with People is resurfacing in which Conover spoke openly about planning a future with DeSorbo.

“We know we’re going to get married one day, and when it happens, it’ll be a lot of fun,” Conover said. He also went into detail about his decision to pull back from drinking in order to “become more of a husband and father material.”

“We’re playing the long game,” the Sewing Down South owner added. “It would be easy to go for instant gratification, but the foundation that we’re building is so that we die together one day, not just make it fun.”

Although fans initially portrayed their split as a joint decision, Conover’s admission about planning their future raises questions. 

On her first new “Giggly Squad” episode of the new year, DeSorbo addressed rumors to her co-host-and former fellow “Summer House” star Hannah Berner that she had cheated on Conover with “Saturday Night Live” star Marcello Hernandez. 

She admitted that she reached out to Hernandez to clear up the rumors. Which she usually would not do because she wasn’t sure if he had a girlfriend. 

“I was like, ‘Hey, umm … just wanna let you know there’s, like, a rumor going around that I cheated on my boyfriend with you.

I was like, ‘Marcello, I am so [expletive] sorry — like this is so embarrassing,” she said before apparently calling out her ex for not addressing the infidelity rumors himself. 

“No one involved was defending me, which I found interesting,” she noted.

While DeSorbo is open about not dating anyone on the “SNL” cast, she was spotted by fans on what looked like a date at a recent Philadelphia Eagles game. As first reported by Bravo and Cocktails, she was seen looking pretty cozy in a private suite with Joe D’Amelio, a sports marketing executive who is also newly single and has been previously linked to “RHONJ” star Teresa Giudice.

In the most recent episode of “Southern Charm,” during a conversation with his longtime co-star Shep Rose, Conover shared even more details about their not-so-perfect relationship.

“I think everyone knows that, if it was up to me, we would just get engaged,” he shared. “But she changes her mind a lot about stuff.”

“One day, she’ll text me and say, ‘Let’s build a (expletive) farmhouse in the middle of nowhere,’ or, ‘I’m moving to Charleston.’ And then she’ll have a good day in New York and be like, ‘I love it up here,'” he confessed before adding, “It gets confusing.”

He shared even more of his concerns in his confessional.

“Me waiting a few years to have a kid, not a big deal. But what I’m risking is what if Paige wants to turn those couple years into 10 years?”

While DeSorbo is seemingly already dating and being forced to address cheating rumors, “Southern Charm” fans think her former ally, Madison LeCroy, might be throwing shade her way. In her Instagram Stories, LeCroy shared behind-the-scenes shots of filming the “Southern Charm After Show” for Peacock with Conover. 

In one clip, she claimed he was “America’s sweetheart” while wearing a sweatshirt with “The Bar” embroidered across the chest. While it could have been completely innocent, some fans took it as a dig with one of two meanings. 

The pillow magnate passed the South Carolina State Bar in 2017. He also just opened a very buzzy new restaurant and bar, By The Way, with another co-star, Austen Kroll.
