Cynthia Bailey Encourages ‘RHOA’ Castmate Porsha Williams To ‘Focus On Herself’ Amid Nasty Divorce Battle

A little girl talk can go a long way!

It’s no secret that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, 42, is going through a nasty divorce. It’s unclear if the drama with her soon-to-be ex-husband Simon Guobadia,60, will play out in any capacity in the upcoming season of the Bravo reality series. However, if not, the world has already gotten a front-row seat to their dispute thanks to obtained court records and the former couple’s heated back-and-forth online.

Porsha Williams isn’t the first peach holder we’ve seen go through a public divorce. Several of the ladies on the series — including Cynthia Bailey who’s set to return for season 16 as a friend of the show — have had the camera rolling while dealing with a marriage breakup. During a recent chat with Page Six, Cynthia Bailey, 57, revealed the advice she gave her co-star to help her cope with the unfortunate situation.

She said,

“I’ve been divorced twice, so I know a little bit about it. I’ve just mostly been giving her positive energy. Just to focus on herself.”

RHOA cameras captured Cynthia Bailey’s wedding with her first husband, Peter Thomas, 63, in 2010. However, they divorced seven years later in 2017. Her second marriage with TV personality Mike Hill, 53, also aired on the show. They jumped the broom in 2020 and divorced in 2022.

Like her friend, Porsha Williams has also been married twice. Her first marriage was to former NFL star Kordell Stewart, 51. Their union started in 2011 and parts of their relationship played out for RHOA viewers once Williams joined the series for season 5 in 2012. However, one week after the reality TV star defended her now-ex against allegations he was “too controlling” during a reunion special, Kordell Stewart filed for divorce. The separation was finalized in December 2013.

Speaking on something she and Williams have in common, Bailey continued,

“I’m a lover of love; she’s a lover of love. She moves fast; I move fast. We just jump right in.”

She added,

“I don’t really know any other way to love, honestly. But at the end of the day, if it’s not working, I think everyone deserves another chance to find their person.”
