The vibes around the Las Vegas Raiders weren’t great the last couple of seasons, but things are looking up. One former player who has been very vocal about the vibes not being good in the past is wide receiver Davante Adams.
He requested a trade from the team in the middle of last season, but has taken every chance he can to remind everybody how unhappy he was during his Raiders tenure. Adams signed with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, and he’s in a much happier place.
“It’s been exactly what I needed, feeling rejuvenated and really, really enjoying the time with the guys, getting to know them, getting on the same page with Matthew (Stafford), and just kind of gelling with the whole team right now,” Adams said, per the team’s official website. “It feels like I’ve been on this team for a couple years now, just based off of how open and receptive the guys have been to me.”
Instead of focusing on the good vibes he’s feeling from the Rams, Adams once again had to take a shot at the Raiders.
“I feel like this is what I needed just based off the vibe and the aura of the building,” Adams said. “And everybody’s in a good mood. It’s not like a dark cloud over the building. And I’ve experienced that quite a bit over the last few years. So, it’s a glaring difference when you come into a building like this.”
Adams Doesn’t Regret Rams Signing
Adams can throw shade at the Raiders or New York Jets all he wants, but at the end of the day, he forced his way to both teams. The Rams are in a much better spot than the Raiders or Jets were when he joined the team, so he’s happy with his decision.
“And [they’ve] got a really good quarterback in here,” Adams said. “Got a really good, young team that shows a lot of promise and was obviously really close to being able to have a chance at the whole thing last year. So, just knowing how hungry this team is and seeing the work that they’re still putting in after having a year last year just kind of confirms that I’m in the right place.”
Vibes Are Much Better for Raiders Now
There’s no denying that the Raiders were in a bad spot during Adams’ tenure. However, the team is in a completely different spot now, so it seems pointless to continue taking shots at them.
Under head coach Pete Carroll, the positivity in the Raiders’ building is at an all-time high. That’s not to mention the team made major upgrades at quarterback and running back. Also, they no longer have a difficult wide receiver causing drama for them.
It remains to be seen if good vibes will equal more wins, but the Raiders should at the very least be much better than they were in 2024. In the long run, Adams and Las Vegas are better off without each other.
