Davante Adams Takes Subtle Jab at Raiders After Jets' Victory Over Texans

New York Jets wide receiver reminded everyone of Las Vegas' struggles after his first win with Gang Green.

Davante Adams finally had his breakout performance after being traded to the New York Jets in mid-October. It also came at a perfect time, with Adams playing a big part in the 21-13 victory that moved the Jets to 3-6 on the season.

Adams hauled in 7-of-11 targets for 91 yards and a pivotal touchdown with just under three minutes remaining. Adams and quarterback Aaron Rodgers linked up for a 37-yard score to extend the Jets' lead to two scores at 21-10.

The three-time All-Pro, who spent the start of the season with the Las Vegas Raiders, discussed his first victory as a Jet after the game and, in the process, took a bit of a swipe at his former team.

While speaking with Amazon Prime Video's Kaylee Hartung, Adams offered a reminder of sorts about the Raiders' struggles.

"Well, I've only got one other win this year, so it feels good, it feels good," Adams said.

While Adams' comment reminds us of how things went in Las Vegas when he was there, one other noteworthy tidbit is being overlooked.

The Raiders are 2-6 this season, with victories on Sept. 15 against the Baltimore Ravens and Sept. 29 against the Cleveland Browns. Adams was traded to the Jets on Oct. 15, meaning he was with the Raiders when they were 2-3, although he was sidelined during the victory over the Browns because of an injury.

While Adams may have simply overlooked the Raiders' win over Cleveland in the moment or possibly didn't consider it a personal win, it was still somewhat noteworthy.

Regardless, the Jets and Raiders have both moved on and are looking to progress, with Adams' former team possibly preparing to shape its future with a potential high draft pick, barring a significant turnaround.
