David Eason & Jenelle Evans Separated in March 2024
Eason’s now estranged wife Jenelle Evans announced she separated from Eason, the father of her 7-year-old daughter Ensley, in March 2024. While speaking to E! News in June 2024, Evans shared one of the reasons why she decided to end her relationship with Eason, whom she married in 2017.
The publication reported that Evans decided to separate from Eason “when a grand jury indicted David on a child abuse charge” following an alleged incident that involved her son, Jace, 15. While speaking to E! News, Evans said she did not want to risk losing custody of Jace by staying with Eason. As fans are aware, Evans’ mother, Barbara Evans, had Jace in her custody until 2023.
“I didn’t want anything, anything to come in between that. So for him to come in between that, it was just a real breaking point for me as well. I’ve been at the battle for Jace for years, and it’s like, he’s finally here. So I’m not messing that up,” said Evans to E! News.
Jenelle Evans Explained Why She Has Not Filed for Divorce
During a March 2024 TikTok video, Evans explained why she had not yet filed for divorce.
“I would have skipped straight to divorce but I couldn’t because in the state of North Carolina, you have to be legally separated for a year. You have to prove that you have two separate addresses,” said Evans in her TikTok video.
