Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims just showed off a skillset that he likely won't get to use in 2025

Marvin Mims has been an absolute weapon for the Denver Broncos over the last few years. Whether it's been catching passes, using him on jet sweeps, or returning kicks and punts on special teams, he's been a great player.

Now, he does have a lot he can work on, but when it comes to being a returner on special teams, there really isn't anyone better. And that's why he was a Pro Bowler last season. Mims is really a weapon for Bo Nix and the Broncos to use in 2025, where he brings another level of speed to the receiving corps that wouldn't be there had they not had him.

And, they know how much of a weapon he is.

“He’s a player that I’ve always admired," former New Orleans Saints interim HC and current Broncos special team coordinator Darren Rizzi said. "We watched him from afar, obviously played against the Broncos last year, and had a chance to study him. He’s a guy who seemed to show up on the plays of the week film every week. There are still a lot of things he can do. I don’t know if this kickoff return is getting as much publicity as it should.

"You look back last year, if I’m not mistaken, he had single-digit kick returns, and people were just kicking touchbacks. I think the guy that’s back there with him is going to get a lot of opportunities because I’m sure they’ll try to play keep away from him as well. He’s been a great leader with our younger guys, and I’m really excited to work with him during the season.”

The Broncos have what many teams around the league truly don't have -- an elite returner. Sure, you may think that a ton of teams around the league do have one, but really, they don't. And in this league, special teams plays can quite literally lose and win you games.

But, enough about all of that. There is another skill that Mims has that isn't being talked about enough -- the guy can throw the ball. Okay, maybe not, but the kids at his youth football camp surely believe that he can. I mean, he did throw a touchdown to them.

Mims is also one of those players who is just a good dude. He really is one of the most genuine guys in the NFL, who always finds a way to give back to the community. And his kindness and heart may be the biggest weapon he has.
