Derek Hough Shares Heartfelt Message to Hayley Erbert & Women In His Life

Derek Hough took to Instagram on International Women’s Day to express his appreciation for the women who have shaped his life, from his wife Hayley Erbert to his mother, Marriann Hough, and sisters, including Julianne Hough. In a heartfelt video, Hough reflected on their impact and extended his gratitude to the many women he works with.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude for all the incredible women who have shaped my life,” Hough wrote in the caption. “To my amazing wife, mothers, sisters, mentors, and teachers, your strength, wisdom, and love have been my guiding light.”

Beyond his family, Hough acknowledged the importance of women in all aspects of life, stating, “You all bring balance, beauty, and unmatched value to this world. Your contributions are immeasurable, and your strength is the foundation of so much love and progress.

Their collaboration extends to television, where they have co-hosted specials like “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration”, delighting fans with their engaging performances and sibling chemistry.  

Meanwhile, their mother, Marriann, has always been a source of love and support, and Derek has never hesitated to show his appreciation for her presence in his life. Hough has shared heartfelt messages honoring his mom, including a playful yet affectionate Mother’s Day tribute. 

The Houghs’ shared experiences, both on and off the stage, serve as a testament to their strong family connection and dedication to the art of dance.

Just as family has been a constant source of strength for Derek, so too has his relationship with Hayley, which has only grown stronger through life’s challenges.

Derek and Hayley’s Love and Strength Through Challenges

Hough also honored his wife, Hayley Erbert, who has been by his side through life’s highs and lows. Their bond was tested in December 2023, when Erbert underwent emergency brain surgery due to a cranial hematoma. The health scare required a craniectomy and cranioplasty, leading to a challenging recovery.

After a difficult year, they called it their “year of triumph”. In December 2024, they returned to the same stage where Hayley’s medical emergency had occurred a year earlier. The emotional full-circle moment was captured in a moving Instagram post, where Derek shared, “I’m so grateful to Hayley. She has blown me away with her resilience, strength, courage, and pure elegance in how she has moved through this experience.”

Reflecting on their journey, Hough expressed his gratitude for Erbert’s perseverance, writing, “Through every challenge, Hayley has shown unwavering courage, and her strength continues to inspire me every day.”Hough and Erbert, who tied the knot in August 2023, continue to inspire fans with their journey. As they move forward, their story remains one of love, perseverance, and partnership.
