Dillon Danis may be beginning the mind games ahead of his fight with KSI as he teased a potential no-show at their launch press conference.

The former Bellator star is due to face his YouTuber rival in the headliner of a Misfits Boxing show on March 29 at the AO Arena in Manchester. This isn’t the first time that they have been booked to fight, with Danis pulling out just weeks before their initially scheduled bout in 2023.

He did show up for a farcical bout with Logan Paul later in the year, but has now already booked his first MMA fight since 2019. As such, fans have been concerned that he may skip out on yet another fight under the Misfits banner.

Dillon Danis threatens to skip KSI press conference

Part of the intrigue into any Dillon Danis fight is whether or not he is going to show up at all. Right until he made the ring walk against Logan Paul in 2023 there were concerns about if he would pull out, particularly after the initial KSI bout was called off.

Danis’ ability to promote fights has helped him to maintain an impressive star power despite fighting just once in the past six years. And it looks as though he might be on his way out of this fight as well given a recent tweet.

The promotion for the March 29 card is supposed to begin on Tuesday with a main and co-main event press conference in London. Danis and KSI are booked to face-off as well as UFC veterans Darren Till and Darren Stewart, who compete in the co-main.

However, Danis has taken to X this evening to write that “Honestly, don’t feel like going to London for one day. F— that.” Skipping the launch press conference for his first scheduled bout with KSI was the catalyst for him pulling out of that bout.

Dillon Danis has already booked MMA comeback fight

One particularly worrying thing for Misfits Boxing fans is the announcement that Danis has already booked in his return to the MMA cage. He hasn’t fought in the cage since his sophomore Bellator outing in 2019, but signed with the GFL earlier this year.

And during the week, it was announced that he would face legendary former UFC lightweight interim champion Tony Ferguson. The pair are signed to the New York and Los Angeles teams respectively, and are advertised as fighting at an as-yet unannounced event.

Bloody Elbow understands that the first planned GFL event was supposed to take place towards the end of April, but would arrive within a month of KSI vs Danis. It remains to be seen if, with just under two months to promote, there will still be an event.
