During night one of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Joan met her 24 contestants, including Chock, a 60-year-old insurance executive from Kansas. Though he didn't get her first impression rose, as that honor went to 62-year-old Keith, she did ask Chock to stay, and there was clearly chemistry between the pair. The second episode of the season kicked off with Chock receiving Joan's first solo date, but did he win her final rose? Read to the end to find out.
Joan & Chock's Disney Dream Date
"Meet Me At The Happiest Place On Earth"
The Golden Bachelorette season 1's first solo date was one of the franchise's most memorable. Joan and Chock went to Disneyland where they enjoyed some rides, had a lovely dinner, and Joan even dressed like a Disney princess as the couple watched a magical fireworks display. The date ended with a kiss, and, of course, Joan gave Chock a rose, so he'd be back for at least another week. Read on to find out if Chock makes it all the way to the end.
Chock Lost Someone Too
They Understand Each Other
Joan was married to her late husband, John Vassos, for 32 years until he died of pancreatic cancer in 2021. Like Joan, John also lost a great love. He was engaged to his girlfriend of nine years, Kathy, but she passed away from brain cancer in 2022. He had been married once before, but he had divorced his first wife, then later fallen in love with Kathy. Having gone through similar heartbreak, Joan and Chock understood each other on a whole other level.
