Dancing With The Stars pro Alan Bersten wasn’t at all pleased with the scores he and Ilona Maher received during the Halloween episode.
Each and every couple performed captivating routines that the audience loved. However, Alan doesn’t think the judges gave him and Ilona a fair score.
Read on and see what he had to say.
Alan Bersten Wanted Better For Ilona Maher On Halloween Night
Alan and Ilona scored a 24/30 for their Tango to “Psycho Killer” by Miley Cyrus. While that certainly wasn’t a score to be dismissive of, all the other couples scored at least one 10. Sadly, that meant Alan and Ilona slipped to the bottom of the leaderboard.
However, Alan doesn’t think they deserved the lowest score of the night.
“I think we were working on so many things this week, and Ilona really did focus on all of them,” Alan shared with Us Weekly after the Halloween episode wrapped up. “[The judges] were a little harsh with the scores, in my opinion, but they’re judges and that’s the point. We’re here to learn and we’re going to keep growing.”
Ilona and Alan also lost their dance-off to Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach.
“We’re here to learn and we’re going to keep growing. So next week, we’re going to make sure to take heel steps. That is going to be priority number one,” the 30-year-old dancer continued. “But I am so proud of Ilona because her frame was amazing. Her head actions were amazing. Her sharpness, her legs, everything was so pristine. I’m so glad and I’m so proud of her. I’m so grateful that we’re still here. Thank you to the fans.”
Several DWTS Fans Took Issue With The Judges Last Night

From Reddit to X, fans lit up the internet complaining about her clear favoritism toward the male contestants. Several DWTS fans wanted better scores for both Ilona and Chandler Kinney.
