DWTS Alum Allison Holker Reflects on the Memories She Has With Late Husband

“Dancing With the Stars” alum Allison Holker’s life has been a rollercoaster of emotions in recent years. The dancer has openly shared her feelings about the death of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who died on December 13, 2022, and told her truths in her memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light.” She has worked hard to rebuild her life and heal, but still misses Boss.

Holker recently reflected on the things she misses most in an episode of the “Between Us with Allison and Weslie” podcast on May 18 (which she co-hosts with her eldest daughter, Weslie Renae).

What Has Allison Holker Said About Stephen Boss?

In the podcast episode “Affirmations, Self-Love & the Truth About Confidence,” Holker admitted that what she misses about Boss is “what he probably would have thought were his flaws.” She continued, “Or the things that he thought, like, ‘Oh, I’m sorry if this is annoying,’ or, ‘I do this,’ or like, ‘These are weird habits that I have.’ But those are the things I wish I could have back.”

In the podcast, she highlighted some of these behaviors that she found annoying then, but now realizes how habits can be unique to each individual. “It was so annoying, the toothpaste would get all over our sink. But I miss that,” she said. “He would leave his stuff everywhere, and I miss that clutter sometimes, you know what I mean? There’s certain things that he would think were, like, bad habits, and he thinks that those were bad — and we think those kinds of things about ourselves are bad — but those are things you miss about someone because it’s what makes them unique.”

Allison Holker & Stephen Boss’ Relationship Timeline

Holker and Boss met on the “So You Think You Can Dance” set in 2010. When the season ended, they danced together at a wrap party, and this moment sparked their relationship. “There was no dialogue, there was no conversation or a first hangout. Literally, we danced and we were together holding hands the very next day,” Holker told People in February 2022, of the moment they connected through dance.

Fans of DWTS also got to see them dance together on Season 16 of the show in April 2013, when they performed a routine. In June 2013, they got engaged and married on December 10, 2013. They shared many beautiful moments over the years, and her statement highlighted her heartbreak after Boss’s death.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” Allison told People in a statement on December 14, 2022. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
