“Dancing With the Stars” season 31 contestant Jessie James Decker announced she is making her acting debut this fall.

The country-pop singer made the big announcement on her Instagram, stating she has joined the cast of the new holiday movie “The Christmas Ring,” marking the first time she has ever appeared in a movie.

‘She’s an Actress Now’

In the Instagram post shared by Decker, 37, on August 4, she said, “She’s an actress now… swipe for the big news!” Decker then proceeded to share a sneak peek at the new movie she’ll be starring in with some photos taken on set.

In the photos, Decker can be seen with her co-star, music collaborator, and fellow “DWTS” alum, Jana Kramer. Decker also appears in a photo with singer Debbie Winans. All three women will star in the new Christmas movie.

Other notable cast members include iconic actor and sitcom star Kelsey Grammer, as well as “Virgin River” star Ben Hollingsworth.

The New Christmas Movie

This new movie is based on Karen Kingsbury’s book “The Christmas Ring.” Kingsbury’s new book will be released just weeks before the movie hits theaters.

In her Instagram post, Decker wrote, “I am so excited to be in the new Karen Kingsbury movie The Christmas Ring alongside one of my best friends @kramergirl and new friend @debbie.winans!”

While Decker was excited to share the news with everyone, her friends and family were just as excited about the big news.

One person wrote, “What can’t she do?! 🔥👏🤩 congrats to you!!!,” while another added, “This is huge! Congratulations, can’t wait to see you in the big screen. I loooove Christmas movies.” One more fan said, “Yasssss girl! You can do it all! 🙌👏”

The love and support came from her co-stars too, as fellow country songstress and “One Tree Hill” alum Kramer wrote, “Couldn’t be prouder girl! You have been killing it!,” to which Decker replied with three crying emojis.

Winans also shared some love on Instagram, writing, “The best!!” The movie’s Instagram page commented too, “You are just perfect in our movie!!! 🎥 🎄💍✨ Can’t wait for the world to see YOUR acting chops! 💯👏🏻”

This is a big role for Decker, as the movie will be released on the big screen. This isn’t a Hallmark movie or made-for-TV type movie, but one for the box office, and that’s a big get for anyone.

“The Christmas Ring” will begin playing in theaters on November 6, 2025.
