A former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant is now a mother for the first time. Season 29 DWTS alum Skai Jackson shared the baby news via her Instagram page.

Skai Jackson Named Her Baby Kasai

Jackson shared a photo of her new baby on Instagram on January 26. She kept the caption short, writing simply, “Kasai 🧸🤎.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” alum did not show the baby’s face, nor did she reveal the baby’s gender. Jackson also kept details on the baby’s arrival date to herself.

The photo Jackson included in her post showed her wearing a matching outfit with the baby. The green and black plaid ensemble included dark green socks for the baby, and Jackson held her baby’s hands in her own.

While Jackson did not reveal Kasai’s gender, it seemed several of her Instagram followers were in the know. In addition, an Instagram Story on her mom’s page referred to the newborn as a boy.

“Kaisai’s mom. At the same age he is now. Twinning,” Jackson’s mom, Kiya Cole, wrote while sharing a newborn photo of the DWTS alum.

One person commented, “He’s finally here!!!” It wasn’t clear whether the person commenting was someone who would be in the know regarding the gender of Jackson’s baby though.

There Are Multiple Potential Inspirations for the Baby Name Kasai

According to Nameberry, “Kasai” is typically a boy’s name and means “fire.” Mom Junction lists Kasai as a unisex name and noted it’s a name that originated in Japan.

The name is used as both a first name and surname in Japan, according to Mom Junction. The site suggested, “Kasai resonates deeply with Japanese culture and traditions, echoing a sense of spirited passion.”

Britannica also indicates that there is a Kasai River in central Africa. The Democratic Republic of Congo also has an area named Kasai.

Jackson did not share the inspiration for choosing the name Kasai, but fans will be eagerly waiting to learn more about her new baby and journey into motherhood.
