Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Anna Trebunskaya was feeling nostalgic about her time on the show, as evidenced by a stunning pic she posted on social media. Her throwback photo had fans feeling all the nostalgia too.
On March 28, Trebunskaya took to Instagram to share a photo of herself from a past season of “Dancing With the Stars.” She also gave a little backstory about the inspiration for a well-loved season 12 dance with partner Sugar Ray Leonard.
In the caption, she noted, “#fbf (do we still do these? ) Flash Back Friday.”
The dancer continued, “My fantasy of being a #ballerina and dancing to Waltz of the Flowers by #Tchaikovsky came true #season11 on #dwts during classical week with a partner that was up for anything. @sugarrayleonard 🕺🏾”
Trebunskaya shared some of the details about how she crafted the routine — it turns out it came to her rather quickly.
“I came up with that choreography in the car ride that took 30 minutes on my way to a friend’s house. @lenakosovich 😘 I showed her the routine in her living room on the carpet. Then details came, once we started practicing with Sugar Ray.”
She continued, “It was heavily inspired by my classical teacher @atiandreeva (she took this photo 🩵), by the culture I grew up in, and the esthetics of the ballet form. Of course, I made it #ballroom, and for the partner that I had. However, the essence stayed I think.”
The former “DWTS” pro added, “It was one of those magical, sparkling, happy moments when all aligned. Still one of my favorite #dress #look #makeup #hair music #dance #moment in my career.”
